Research Experience
06/2022-Present
Research Assistant, UBC Faculty of Nursing
As Research Assistant for the project, I perform longitudinal qualitative analysis as part of a large-scale interview study investigating the experiences of older adults and caregivers in accessing and navigating care services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning in Fall 2022, I will contribute to a quantitative gender-based analysis of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging examining the perspectives, experiences, and characteristics of Canadian caregivers for older adults. I work alongside research team members and partners to prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and to create knowledge translation plans and outputs.
03/2022-07/2022
Research Coordinator, Precision Mental Health
As Research Coordinator for the project, I coordinated regular lab and project team meetings; collaborated on grant proposal writing; ran the lab social media platform; completed organizational and administrative tasks; and supported the lab director in outreach and communication. I coordinated a series of guest lectures and research skills development workshops for lab members and gerontology graduate students.
02/2021-06/2022
Research Coordinator, Fraser Health Authority
As co-research coordinator for the project, I led recruitment, data collection and qualitative analysis activities for 3 long-term care homes in the Fraser Health Authority region. I conducted interviews with site leadership, direct care staff, and patient partners. I led the development of a qualitative analysis framework that was used to analyze 75 interview transcripts. This project contributed to the collective efforts of teams across the country as part of the Strengthening Pandemic Preparedness in LTC initiative led by HealthCare Excellence Canada. Its findings will inform strategies for pandemic response and quality of care.

09/2021-03/2022
Research Assistant, Precision Mental Health
As research assistant, I led the development of the project’s ethics review board application and performed amendments as necessary. I prepared the project’s informational documents (informed consent forms, participant information sheet) and data collection instruments (interview protocol, semi-structured interview guide). I led the recruitment of and interviewed 19 policy decision makers working in roles pertaining to Canadian seniors’ wellbeing.
05/2018-05/2019
Research Assistant, Barclay Lab for Economics and Psychology As research assistant, I independently organized and implemented participant recruitment, retention, and data collection for a year-long observational study on group-based cooperative decision making under the supervision of the lab director. I supported the identification, collation, and extraction of data from peer-reviewed literature to support a systematic review and meta-analysis on moral-licensing.
